Shawanaga Lodge

Shawanaga Lodge, with 7 lovely cottages, is a small resort located on Rock Island Lake.  It connects to other lakes which are essentially crown land and free of any cottages.  Our lake empties into the Shawanaga River and ultimately drains into Georgian Bay.

We are open from early June until late September.

We have a beautiful 600 foot sand beach which is ideal for families with small children.

The seven cabins are heated, with hot and cold running water and central showers.

Although the individual cabins have no television or Internet service, anyone with a Rogers Internet "stick" can get high speed internet service at our lodge as there is a tower close to our location. 

Pets are allowed, with supervision.

All the essentials for cooking are available but cottagers should have their own bedding and linen supplies.

We have boats and motors available for rent to qualified individuals.

Our lakes offer pike, walleye, bass and numerous pan fish for the kids to enjoy.

We are only 3 Kms off the main highway with easy access to Pointe au Baril for shopping.

Our great appeal is that we offer a quiet , secluded retreat for cottagers who want to enjoy the outdoors and water with their families, regardless of their ages.

We have guests who have been coming here regularly for over 40 years.  They obviously like what we have to offer!

Access is by Dumont Road off Hwy. 69, 7 kms. south of Pointe au Baril.
