Built in 1889, Pointe au Baril Lighthouse marks the entrance to the area from Georgian Bay

The Islanders' Association is a group of over 600 families who either live or vacation  in the Pointe au Baril area within the 30,000 islands of Georgian Bay, Ontario,Canada.
These people are involved  with the issues of cottage owners and residents in the island-based community.

Mission...The object of the Association shall be to unite together those interested in Pointe au Baril as a "water access" community for the purpose of protecting and promoting the interests of property owners, residents, cottagers and tourists, preserving the environment and the healthful, sanitary condition and scenic beauty of the vicinity, conserving the fishing among the islands, encouraging safety and recreation in water use and sports, and fostering cooperative relations between and among members of this "water access" community and its numerous constituencies.
